WOD – “14/10/2013”

A new week of training is ahead of us, but 1st here is a heads up about a very special WOD which will be taking place on Saturday 19th October. This weekend Suicide Saturday will become “Survivor Saturday” as we celebrate and recognise the amazing achievements of one of our members and close friend Rebecca Dunn. Here is a message from her fiancé Andy Kelly…

As a lot of you may or may not know Becci & her family had some fantastic news recently. She has fought her battle with Hodgkins Lymphoma a cancer of the blood & won! After six months chemotherapy, one month radiotherapy & five years in remission her latest blood tests show that there is now no longer any sign of the big C!

Since finding out the shocking news when she was just 22 yrs old Becci has shown an amazing strength of character and a typical can do attitude to show us all what a positive mindset & a fighting spirit can achieve. Along with the support of her family, friends & her CrossFit Teesside community she has overcome the biggest obstacle of her life but has definitely come out a better, fitter & healthier person.

To celebrate the great news in true Purple Army style, let’s show some of this survival spirit by taking part in Becci’s “Survivor Saturday” WOD with her CrossFit Teesside Family. Becci would love it if all of her Crossfit Teesside family could join her on October 5th to take part in what is sure to be a brutal WOD! 🙂

There are lots of Scaling Options for the Pistol Squats (One Legged Squat) which we will go through in the class, these could also be scaled for Air Squats.
