On Saturday 23rd June we will be doing a workout in order to raise money and awareness for testicular cancer. The WOD has yet to be decided;however it will be named “BLUE WOD”.
As a community we can donate as much as we can afford to this worthy charity, shortly we will have collection tubs and sponsor forms put in the box.
This charity in particular is close to the hearts of two of our members Robbie Harrison and Jeanette Fisher, the paragraph below is Jen’s words.
As you may or may not know, 3 years ago Robbie (bear) was diagnosed with testicular cancer. It was a huge shock as he had always been so active and healthy. He was treated immediately and also had chemotherapy. All is good now and heading in for 3 years in remission. However, all the support he got when he was ill could not happen if charities like the Orchid Trust did not raise money.
Testicular cancer is pro dominant in men aged 18 to 35 and awareness needs raising.
We feel that men’s cancer does not get enough publicity and therefore it would mean so much to us both if u would support our aim to raise money for this men’s cancer charity. “JEANETTE FISHER”
