SUNDAY 8TH MAY – CROSSFIT TEESSIDE CHARITY DAY

On Sunday 8th May CrossFit Teesside will be holding a charity day to
help one of our members Charmaine Imeson raise money for the PC Nicola
Hughes Memorial Fund.

You may be aware of events in Manchester in September 2012 when two
unarmed Police Officers were shot following a routine burglary call. The
aims of the charity are to provide learning opportunities and
pre-employment skills in the form of support through grants or services
to children (under 21) who have suffered a tragic loss of a close family
member through a violent crime.

The effect this has on people and how we as adults cope in the aftermath
is different to how children cope and we would like to help them to try
and rebuild their lives and look towards the future. To be able to stand
on their own feet by continuing with education where financial
situations may have changed or start that course which will enable them
to gain employment.

Since the 20th of February Charmaine and fellow officers have been
running two miles a day and will continue to do so for 100 days to raise
money for this charity. On Sunday 8th May we would love you all to come
down and work out in aid of this great cause. A WOD will be programmed
around Charmaine completing her two miles of the day with the CrossFit
community to help her along.
