WOD – “04.05.13” CrossFit Games OPEN info

The CrossFit season is well and truly underway!! For those of you who don’t know CrossFit runs a worldwide online competition once a year in order for CrossFitters to see how they stack up against the rest of the world. Its also acts as a platform for those individuals who are striving to reach the World CrossFit Games. Having competed in the “OPEN” twice already I recommend it to anybody. Once a week for 5 weeks you will complete a judged workout and then submit your score online, once all scores are collated you will see where you stand against everybody else in the world. After the 5 weeks is up the top 48 Male, Female, Masters and Teams from each region (ours being Europe) then go head to head at an unknown location, from here the top 3 then qualify for the World Games. You will naturally up your game during the “OPEN”, you will push that little bit harder and get that little bit extra out of yourself. Last year was an awesome 5 weeks for our box and we certainly had people doing what they once thought impossible. The “OPEN” kicks off on March 6th and lasts for 5 weeks until April 7th. This will give us the opportunity to see how our box stacks up against all other boxes. I encourage everybody to do this, no matter what your ability level is, give yourself a goal and something to train for!!! 🙂

There is another competition coming up in the Summer, this is a pairs competition held in Cardiff. European Inferno is a competition designed to test all types of athletes, Rugby, Hockey, Football, CrossFit etc. To register or find out more information click here. With the OPEN being just under 5 weeks away, lets get serious with our training, push yourself to meet the Rxd weight standards (safely), master your gymnastics and work on your weakness’s.
